I work with females who may be feeling overwhelmed due to the pressures of study, work, parenting or the many other demands in our modern world. I provide a holistic service to ensure that we look at all lifestyle factors that may be contributing to your stress and rule out any medical conditions that need to be treated. I offer practical solutions to help you manage your stress and can work in conjunction with trusted psychologists if required.

 

Pregnancy or Post Natal anxiety and depression

I have had experience working with many women who have suffered from psychological issues prior to pregnancy, during pregnancy as well as in the post natal period. I can work with women who want to optimise their mental wellbeing prior to conceiving or after they are pregnant. This is a really important time for women and their families and I work with trusted psychologists and psychiatrists to ensure that we can achieve the best outcomes in a timely fashion. If there are any concerns that you may be suffering from a post natal mood issue, it is important to seek advice from a trusted health professional as soon as possible so you can get the best support for you and your baby.

Anxiety and Depression

If you are experiencing more significant mental health symptoms such as feelings of anxiety or depression, I can provide an assessment and mental health care plan if appropriate. A mental health care plan enables you to access Medicare subsidised services from a psychologist. I provide a holistic approach to mental health care and ensure we explore all aspects of lifestyle and possible treatment options. Aspects such as healthy diet, exercise and mindfulness are some of the possible areas that can contribute to mental wellbeing.

 

Mood issues related to perimenopause and menopause

One of the most common and overlooked symptoms of perimenopause and menopause can be a change in your mood. Some women may find they experience symptoms of irritability, anger, loss of self confidence, anxiety or lowered mood. This could be for the first time in your life or you may find previous issues can worsen. I provide a holistic assessment of your health needs during this important transition and aim to work with women to find the best ways to assist you in restoring your quality of life.

PMS and PMDD

Some women experience significant mood changes that can fluctuate with their menstrual cycle. I work with females to ensure that we optimise their mental wellbeing if they are experiencing pre menstrual or hormonally related mood issues. I can provide a full assessment in order to offer the best holistic treatment plan for your situation.

 

Meditation

As a qualified meditation teacher, I will often suggest different meditation and mindfulness techniques to assist in managing your mental wellbeing. There is an abundance of evidence on the benefits of mindfulness for managing various mental health issues. It is an important component of a holistic approach to psychological wellbeing and I run meditation classes for women from time to time.
